Living Lands & Waters is a unique non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of the nations major rivers and their watersheds. Based in East Moline, Illinois, our team spends up to nine months each year on a fleet of barges, engaging in river cleanups, watershed conservation initiatives, and educational workshops. Our mission is driven by a commitment to environmental stewardship and community involvement. Living Lands & Waters is an innovative non-profit organization headquartered in East Moline, Illinois. Our mission centers around the comprehensive protection, preservation, and restoration of major rivers and their watersheds across the United States. Unique in our approach, we operate an "industrial strength" river cleanup initiative that emphasizes hands-on community involvement alongside environmental education. Our dedicated team spends significant portions of the year living aboard a fleet of barges while conducting impactful projects such as river cleanups, tree plantings through our MillionTrees Project, and educational workshops aimed at students of all ages. Since our inception, we have engaged over 134,000 volunteers who have collectively removed more than 13 million pounds of trash from rivers.
