Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County, an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, has been a beacon of hope in the Bellefonte area for over 40 years. Our primary goal is to help families achieve the dream of homeownership while fostering community development and support. We have successfully built, renovated, or repaired nearly 80 homes through dedicated efforts from volunteers and financial contributions from individuals and organizations alike. Our non-profit organization focuses on constructing quality homes that are sold through no-profit, no-interest mortgages. This model enables income-qualified families to secure safe and affordable housing. Prospective homeowners must fulfill 350 hours of sweat equity and adhere to various requirements as part of their commitment to maintaining their new homes. In addition to our housing initiatives, we operate the ReStorea thrift store offering used furniture and appliancesproviding additional funding
